Halloween

The Beijing expat community generally embraces Halloween quite fully, and I imagine that this is largely due to the American influence. Ben landed in Beijing at lunchtime on 31st October, and I had thoughtfully shopped for his costume - a web to my tried-and-tested spider (haha). So, in the evening we donned our outfits:
.....and flailed one of my 8 legs at a cab to go and meet Dave and Benny dressed up in..... absolutely no costume whatsoever. The shame! After Faith arrived dressed as a pumpkin:.....we bundled D&B off to the supermarket, where they picked up some token items before heading to the Amrican univertstities alumni party at Ruby Khi, where we paid Y180 for the dubious honour of freeflowing "alcohol", and a good time was had by all:
The biggest surprise of the night was when we emerged from the club to find oursevles in a full on snow blizzard. Without a coat. Dressed as a spider. *shudder*
